Gay Students Win $300,000 Harassment Suit

Two students who sued a San Diego area school district for homophobic harassment have been awarded $300,000 in damages.

In rendering its decision the jury said that Poway District High School, north of San Diego, failed to provide a safe environment for LGBT students

Both students are now in college.

When will schools realize that in loco parentis means they have to protect ALL students, not just the ones who fit into their neat little boxes, or the popular kids, or the ones whose parents holler the loudest.
