Zach: Gay Kid's Father On Christian Broadcasting Network

His name is Zach Stark. His father, Joe Stark, gave the CBN an exclusive interview and appeared on the Christian tv station to proclaim: "homosexuality is not in God's plan - it's wrong." Joe Stark also commented that the Love In Action anti gay brainwashing facility allows his son to "see for himself the destructive lifestyle, what he has to face in the future."

By which I take him to mean Zach gets to experience the agony of being surrounded by homophobes. The problem is that Zach is not free to leave the company of homophobes, rather he's forced to spend days and nights surrounded by them. In what reality based world is this not psychological abuse? By the time the homophobes get through, this is going to be one messed up kid.

The Love In Action facility can also be described as a Christian fundamentalist immersion program. The long list of activity restrictions . .

You take this story about Zach and then look at the case in Tampa, Florida, where the father punched his THREE year old son so frequently that the child ended up in a coma and died (he was afraid the kid was becoming 'gay') and you have the precise kind of recipe that these evil, superstitious, insecure crazies embrace in regards to gay Americans. They take no responsibility for the torture and abuse they heap upon others simply to placate their own insecurities.

I'm 47.

30+ years ago, when I was in my teens, there was a same-sex couple that lived in our neighborhood for years and years; everyone got along - even the fundies.

It seems now that bigotry is worse than ever.


I pray for this kid; if he were my nephew, I would invite him for a visit out here in California (that visit would lengthen into a permanent visit).
