Recall Bid Against Cal. Judge Over Gay Ruling Fizzles
http://www.365gay.com/newscon05/07/071905calJudge.htm

A conservative Christian group has abandoned its attempt to organize a recall campaign against the Sacramento County Superior Court judge who upheld California's domestic partner law.

The Campaign for California Families began the recall effort against Judge Loren E. McMaster last year after it lost a suit to have the law declared illegal on the grounds it violated the spirit and intent of Proposition 22, a 2000 ballot initiative, that holds California will only recognize unions between a man and a woman.

Last September McMaster ruled that there is nothing in the language of Proposition 22 that "restrict the grant of rights and benefits to persons who have registered as domestic partners, even if those rights closely parallel the rights enjoyed by married couples."
