Recently I did a post about gay superheroes. I mentioned a book by Perry Moore. Mr. Moore is the executive producer of The Chronicles of Narnia films. With his partner, Hunter Hill, Perry wrote and directed his first feature film, Lake City starring Sissy Spacek. (Yes, I copied it from the dust cover.)
First off let me say I am not yet done with the book. I'm about 1/2 way through it. And I find it fascinating.
There is romance. Intrigue. Murder.
The protagonist of the book is Thom Creed, a young man with incredible healing powers. He is invited to join the premiere super group with characters who should be familiar to anyone who reads or has read comics.
Thom is learning how to use his powers and also trying to figure out how to deal with his feelings as a young gay man.
I'm not going to go too much into detail, but if you have the chance and want a good book to curl up with, I can certainly suggest this one.

1. C'mon... What super team? |

I've been out of the circuit for twenty-five years, but I'm still curious.
Sounds good.

They resemble the Justice League. There's King of the Sea (Aquaman), Warrior Woman (Wonder Woman), an alien raised in Kansas, etc.

Sounds good.
I've got a couple of superhero based books that are pretty good. One is quite funny, about the super-villain, called "Soon I Will Be Invincible." I howled my way through the first reading (or listening, since it was an audiobook...) The other, much darker, is "Those Who Walk in Darkness" by John Ridley.
This one you describe sounds good too. I saw your initial post on it, but somehow never got the title of the book (actually, I think I opened it up in another tab and lost it because my computer got twitchy and shut down the browser) but I'd be interested. I like stuff in the genre that isn't just a way to piss all over it.

Is that you get to a part that makes you cry.
Stupid book. (Wipes away the tear.)
Yeah, I'm sentimental. I can't help it.

Parts of me are sad. Parts of me are elated. This was an awesome book.

7. Is the book "Hero"? It's not clear, and I didn't see your first post. |
