Good for Ms. Kintz!

That's because Ms. Kintz finished the school year last June as Mr. Nick Kintz.
Although Kintz has lived as a woman outside of work for three years, she's only now making the transition at school. The school has mailed letters to staff members to prepare them for the change they will see when school starts Tuesday.
"When you greet Nicole ... she will be dressed as a woman," Principal Lou Bailey wrote in a letter to staff.
A separate letter, dated Aug. 20, was mailed to students and their parents.
"While understanding the complexity of this situation, we believe we have a teachable moment for ourselves, our students, and this community. As educators, we speak to authenticity, tolerance, honoring diversity, and developing character," Bailey wrote.
Kintz also wrote a note to staff that was sent with the principal's letter.
"After many years of trying to be what everyone in my life wanted or expected me to be, I have decided to finally be true to myself," she wrote. "All I would really appreciate from you is that you continue to respect me as the colleague I have been all along, but to also refer to me as she and her."
