Dems To Introduce DOMA Repeal in House
"A group of Democrats, including New York Representative Jerry Nadler are reportedly preparing to introduce a repeal to the federal Defense of Marriage Act, or DOMA."

It's about time. Here's where we see if our Fierce Advocate will fiercely advocate.

3. It's not a good time
this will screw up other parts of Obama's agenda... I'm for gay rights more than you'll ever know, but it has to be done right... can't you just settle for civil unions.... Obama is the best friend gays have ever had in the White House.... Presidents don't introduce legislation... Haven't you heard of the separation of powers... my brothers best friend is gay and we treat him no differently than anyone else.... there's no way homosexuality even begins to rise to the level of pedophilia....

(I'm channeling some DU'ers response to this)

4. My Senator thinks this isn't going to get done until next year.
So at any rate was her expectation as of a live-blog on Daily Kos awhile back: Said that it was on the table, but probably wouldn't get done until next year after ENDA and hate crimes.

5. It should be noted its a partial repeal of the Federal benefits and leaves the states part intact
While I fully support it should be marriage equality in name and law I think its short sited to change the law at the same time to deny benefits to those in Civil Unions or Domestic Partnerships.

I want a full repeal with no new laws added denying benefits to any relationship.
