5. If it were just Republicans that were the problem, we'd have equality |
|
It is also many Democrats who quote the Bible about marriage, skipping the bits like this one, or the bits regulating the sale and purchase of slaves, in order to mitigate their own bigoted attitudes. Democratic voters passed Prop 8 and all the rest of them.

4. Well, that pretty much says it all, doesn't it? |

One man, one woman, one time out of wedlock, and the woman has to be killed.
That sure does teach us to love one another, doesn't it? :eyes:

6. What part of "Thou shalt not kill" don't the Death Penalty-ers get? |
|
Oh, that's right ... they use the spin "It really says 'Thou shalt not commit murder' ..."

Why not bag religion entirely instead of trying to be better at sanctimoniousness than Republicans?

10. but ... as Christians, aren't they supposed to follow the New Testament and the Teachings of Jesus |
|
and not the "wrathful" God of the Old?
Yeah, I know ... when someone has the Bible memorized and can pull quotations out of their ass in their sleep, you're not likely to change their minds ...

The whole eternal torment for unbelievers thing is strictly New Testament.
The idea of Old Testament meanie versus sweetie-pie Jesus is bullshit apologetics.
And the really nasty anti-gay stuff is from St Paul not the Mosaic Law.
