Equality Network Announces Nationwide Phonebanking to Save Gay Marriage in Maine

Marriage equality is under attack in Maine, and no matter where you live, there's something you can do about it.

Far right extremists have imported their national anti-equality agenda to the Pine Tree state with the goal of stripping away marriage rights. The same group that bankrolled Prop 8 in California has set up shop in Maine and has out fundraised the local effort by 2-1. Despite that, polls show fairness is winning by a slim margin, thanks to the local grassroots No On 1 effort to protect Maine equality.

We can't leave them alone to stand their ground. We need to rally to support the local effort! No matter where you live, there is a way to help win this fight. All you need is a phone and a computer with an internet connection. No long distance fees, no dialing- the web-based software does it all.

1. I posted a link to this in GD earlier today as well

and as usual it sank with out comment or even one single recommend. For all of DU's outrage at the passage of Prop 8 it appears to me no one outside of a few are willing to make it an issue. Its just sad IMO - I have posted several in GD now over the last month and all of them sank except for one were I posted "please help" in the subject line and pointed out we need to act now (and still it did not stick around much other than its place on the greatest page with just K&R with no discussion etc).

Sorry to vent - Im just fed up.

Edit to add link to GD post: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=389&topic_id=6599130&mesg_id=6599130

(its fallen off the page again)

3. Good, this is just what we need to be doing
We can't let ourselves get distracted and overconfident again, not after California.
