http://www.365gay.com/newscon05/08/081705glaad.htm

Neil G. Giuliano who served four terms as mayor of Tempe, Arizona was named Wednesday to the presidency of the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation.

Giuliano, 48, succeeds Joan M. Garry, who stepped down from the nation's LGBT media advocacy organization in June. He will will take the helm of GLAAD on Sept. 1.

"As an openly gay mayor and successful regional leader in the generally conservative state of Arizona, Giuliano has been one of the nation's most visible gay elected officials," GLAAD said in a statement.
