10. Does the name ring a bell? Here's what he thinks about hospital visitations.
"Imagine for a moment that you're a husband visiting his wife in the hospital emergency room. Suppose a lesbian is in the bed next to hers, and the woman visiting her is her wife. Doesn't that sicken you? As a spouse in a proper marriage, you have the right to visit your wife, and be with her at her bedside. Homosexuals do not deserve that right, because it makes a mockery of spousal privilege. So while your wife is in the hospital fallen ill, two lesbians want to make a mockery of your marriage, and the privileges that it carries. Are you okay with that? No right-thinking person would be."

I want bad things to happen to this person. I really do.

I will never be able to comprehend the close-minded view of such dirtbags.

But may I offer my story as a counter-weight to this ignorance?

I was born and raised in Nuremberg, Germany in 1952. My dad was born in 1928, my mom in 1929. For them, the years of their youth were not exactly years of growing up in an enlightened culture. Still... When I was a teenager in the late 1960s, my very best friend asked me how I would react if a friend told me he was gay. I looked at him with big question marks in my eyes, mumbled something about not knowing anyone who was gay and then he said: "You know me, don't you?". Gears were grinding in my head, and then the big light bulb came on.

That same evening, at the dinner table, I mentioned to my parents: "Hey, guess what, Rainer is gay!". Response from my dad: "So?" And then to my mom: "Please pass the salt." Okaaay. Needless to say my parents' house became somewhat of a safe haven for my gay friends. I had never known before just how many of my friends were indeed gay. There were my mom's home-cooked dinners for her newly-found children, laughter, tears, dancing in our tiny living roomn with too much wine and too many cigarettes. There were sad life stories of men who had been afraid of being openly gay, some of whom had married and started families only to realize too late that they were unable to keep up the charade. But there were also wonderful love stories and the giddiness and madness surrounging them.

Thanks, Mom and Dad.

Much love to you!

18. Your Parents Are Cool...
I know a number of Germans who grew up in the same time frame as your parents and I suspect that seeing hate and prejudice enacted in national policy were eye-opening and life-changing for them.

She'll love it. A pity my dad passed a few years ago. He would have grinned his devilish grin upon receiving your compliment.

Here's to my GLBT brothers and sisters in love and solidarity!

24. if I pay the bills, I get to visit. It's that simple.
If my insurance doesn't view my family as legal by disallowing a mutual policy, then my only alternative is cash. If we share property, assets and bank accounts and a bed, and live as a married couple some person getting sick in the hospital because they hate gays that much is NOT MY PROBLEM, and I hope they choke on their vomit and code.

4. Same as the way they went after domestic benefits in OH once the
amendment passed, in WA state to try to keep the "almost marriage" from passing, and countless other examples - the most recent and disgusting was to deny the body of the deceased to the partner up in the Northeast last week

7. If BR_Parkway was referring to the case in Rhode Island, and I think he was...
...the Rhode Island legislature (both houses) overrode Gov. Carcieri's veto of that bill. As they should have -- his veto was unconscionable.

The House overrode the veto 67-3, the Senate overrode the veto 29-3. More info in this article.

8. Oh, that guy is a real gem.

Check out these beauties from his "Open Letter to Gays" (emphasis mine):

Speaking of spin, do not try to spin the opposition to gay marriage as "homophobia." I, for one, am not afraid of homosexuals. I think that you are sick, your lifestyle is not in harmony with nature or common decency, and I think that you're arrogant to expect, and even demand the right to marry. Despite that, I do not fear you. I don't choose to socialize with you people, and I wouldn't hesitate to keep on walking if I encountered a gay person in medical distress or other need, but that would be due in small part to legitimate health concerns involved with rendering aid to a homosexual, even though I have taken several first-aid training courses, and I am CPR-certified, as I have been for many years. That is not fear. That is self-preservation.

Gays are the most disgusting people in society. I feel you're far more disgusting than child molesters, murderers, drunken drivers, Jehovah's Witnesses, and even Democrats. Even so, we have to tolerate you people. That tolerance extends but to a point. It's a shame to see someone prosecuted criminally when they "convince" a gay person of the error of their ways, but sadly, that's the law. This, even though you people are largely responsible for HIV, and your mere existence puts us all at a severe health risk, not to mention a financial risk due to the health care costs associated with keeping gays alive as a result of their own reckless actions. Gays then, are a financial liability, and a health risk, given that gays are (somewhat) human, and could bleed, exposing an innocent heterosexual to problems.

This guy is a horrible mixture of arrogance, ignorance, and misinformation. You're right, THIS is what we are facing. People like this think that not only do we not have a right to marriage equality, but that we do not have a right to even exist. And if someone wants to "convince" us that we shouldn't be gay (and I think we ALL know what he meant by putting the word -convince- in quotation marks), well, that's just peachy. Isn't that nice?

I would also like to point out that this guy is approximately 32 (he posted an essay from 2001 that said he was 23 at the time) and he has been married THREE TIMES. And he claims that it's gay people that are out to make a mockery of the "sanctity of marriage." Yeah, right. He's too stupid and ignorant to realize what a hypocrite he is.

:puke:

On edit, check out this article that the homophobe proudly posts on his website. What a piece of shit this guys is.

Once again, :puke:

9. His entry on Divorce: How to Play Dirty is appalling
As I recalled my divorces, I thought back to probably the dirtiest tactic I used. My second ex-wife (she thinks she was my first ex-wife, but it is not so) and I had a rather contentious divorce, not that there's such a thing as a friendly divorce. Things got pretty ugly pretty fast. But even in the midst of the divorce, I had the power to ruin her life, or at least make it a little more difficult, and I did just exactly that, back in 1999.

12. Dude needs to take a damn chill pill.
:wtf: is up with people who rant and rave and rail on one subject every single day like that? Don't they ever think about anything else other than gay people? Geez, if I don't like something, I'll stay the hell away from it. Those people tend to harp on it and think about it constantly though. They are totally obsessed to the point of sickening. I feel for anyone who has to be around that asshole.

put the link up wherever you can and feel is appropriate. Ditto any other fuckheads you find on the Internet. Expose these bastards for what they are. The comment about the lesbians in the ER was what sent me ballistic.

This guy is a major loser. While he is alone, unhappy (happy people don't post that sort of filth), with just two cats (poor kitties1), I am married to a wonderful woman with whom I am blissfully happy.

22. The shit this guy thinks is self-evident is amazingly
ignorant and scary. :(

He really thinks that just by living our lives we somehow threaten and harm and invalidate the lives of straight people. In response, he obviously thinks we should all be driven, hounded, and beaten back into the deepest and darkest recesses of our closets. He doesn't want us to be allowed any place in "normal" society.

:grr:
