Cross-post: I will not attend a wedding if the bride and groom do not support marriage equality
I know it is a purely symbolic move, as I don't have any friends or family who espouse anti-gay views, but I'll be dammed if I will ever share in the special day of a couple that would deprive two gay Americans of that same right.

1. I am str8 and I feel the same way!
:hi:

Until all persons are equal and free to marry, then I celebrate no other marriages.

2. Missed opportunity
See, this is where I think you are missing a really great opportunity. IF you WERE invited to the wedding of a couple that do not support marriage quality, then they obviously have some affection for you (or just want a gift...in which case I wouldn't attend either). So, lets go with the assumption that they DO have some affection for you. Now, wouldn't it be better (honey DOES taste better than vinegar), to attend and make it known how wonderful it is that they can marry and wouldn't they really like it if everyone was able to enjoy the same thing? And if you are gay yourself, you can even make it more personal.
I think you are missing a great opportunity otherwise. What are you going to do? Write on the response card, "I'm sorry, but I won't attend because you are not for marriage equality for all"? Oh yea, that will go a long way in changing their minds.
So, I guess it comes down to whether you want to make a point, or you want change and COULD be a vessel of change if you choose to be.

5. "honey DOES taste better than vinegar"
Not necessarily. Oil and Honey salad dressing might be kinda yucky.

8. Just have to add
a little mustard to the mix. ummmmmmm. good. See, mustard and oil, yuk. Add honey.
And here is another little secret regarding honey (and furthering it's anecdotal properties)...
When you enter a new geographical area, find and consume local honey. You are less likely to develop regional allergies.
You may be asking....just HOW does this tie in with the OP?
Go to that wedding. Bring along your own honey for others to enjoy.

3. I just got engaged a few weeks ago
and while I HAVE to get married in a Catholic Church (my fiance's entire family and part of my family is Catholic) I will not allow the priest to use any of the usual bible stories churches use at weddings. The ones that they use to justify their ridiculous hatreds.

6. I'd make an exception if you were one of the people who would get to make a public toast.
Even if you plan on walking-out after you make the toast.

7. Infantile behavior that would accomplish nothing.
Assuming you actually did this, would you tell the couple your reason for declining their invitation? How many minds do you think that would change?

Just out of curiosity, how would you deal with an invitation if you didn't know the couple's views on marriage? Would you ask about their position on marriage equality before responding?

9. Agreed, but I tend to lose a friend fast if they don't support marriage equality.
I don't get invited to the wedding.
