Gay couple's child denied re-enrollment at Catholic school
BOULDER - A preschool student at a Catholic school in Boulder will not be allowed to return next school year because of what is going on at home.

The student's parents are two women and the Denver Archdiocese says their homosexual relationship violates the school's beliefs and policy.

According to teachers at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic School, a meeting was held Tuesday to discuss the issue. The staff was told a student would not be allowed to re-enroll because of his or her parents' sexual orientation. The staff members were also told not to talk to the media.

...

School staff members, who asked to remain anonymous, say they are disgusted by the Archdiocese's decision.

What did their jesus say about children? I guess the Denver archdiocese has decided that only certain children are worthy of pre-school.

2. Rats. They've figured out that gayness is contagious and is carried by children.

4. Perhaps the Lutheran Church Wisconsin Synod is right.
Their doctrine includes a statement that the "Church in Rome" is the antichrist. OTOH, that is the denomination of Michele Bachmann, so perhaps all religious organizations are irrational by nature. I think I'll go with that, as I have done since 1964.

8. Parents must 'follow the Catholic Church's beliefs', yet they accept nonCatholics
Yeah... that's sounds real fair, that makes sense. Parents are expected to follow the Catholic Church's beliefs according to them, yet noncatholics may pay to attend catholic schools, even though they don't follow the Catholic church's beliefs... yeah, that makes sense. I hope most of the teachers leave that place because of their blatant intolerance.

9. Who cares?
Find another place. What did they expect from Catholic daycare? Rainbows, open arms, and inclusiveness? What i'd like to know is why they sent their kid to a place like that to begin with. Child abuse imo. And if the school staff are truly outraged they must be hopelessly naive when it comes to the policies of their church.

10. I Have To Ask
why a gay couple would want to send their child to a school that will tell their child how evil the parents are for being gay.

11. I strongly suspect they weren't doing that in pre-school.
Then again, these bastards have proven that they're evil.

12. I sent my kid to catholic school for K-2.

They don't get to the anti-gay stuff until a little later on. It wasn't an issue, mainly cause neither the school nor I pushed it.

Sometimes the alternative to parochial school is just too horrendous; in our case,, a completely dysfunctional and chaotic neighborhood public school. Like Mussollini, catholic schools "make the trains run on time." That actually is pretty important, where primary education is concerned. And secular private schools are laughably expensive.

Ya gotta do what ya gotta do where kids are concerned. After 2nd grade we moved to a better PS district.

Problem solved, more or less.

15. Crazy Catholics anyways
You'd think they'd want the opportunity to brainwash the kids. As the Jesuits say "give me the boy and I'll give you the man".
