Need help remembering things from the 1980's
A couple of days ago in an NYTs OpEd Dr. Richard J. Ablin argues against widespread use of PSA tests for screening. The two studies he mentions have serious flaws and should not be the basis for health policy. He first discovered the PSA, but I vaguely remembered something else.

A quick search indicates that he continued to deny HIV as causal for many years, promoting the theory that a component of sperm was involved, also promoting tetracycline and similar compounds treatments. This seems to have continued well into the 1990's.

I would greatly appreciate any help sorting out Ablin's place in the HIV AIDS saga. Post or private message.

Thanks.
