Update from MS Safe Schools Coalition on Itawamba Ag prom, fyi.
Dear Mississippi Safe Schools Coalition Members,

I would like to begin by thanking everyone for the overwhelmingly positive response we have received from the community around the state in regards to Constance McMillen being denied the opportunity to attend prom with her girlfriend, and wear a tux. We are truly humbled by everyone's commitment to ensuring diversity has its place among southern values.

At this point we are actively working to solidify plans for "Second Chance Prom". The prom will be open to students from all over the state, including those displaced by the prom cancellation at Itawamba Agricultural High School. As soon as the specifics of this event are solidified you will be the first to find out. I would like to remind everyone to check back frequently to our website http://mssafeschools.org

If you have any questions for the Queer Youth Advisory Board, MSSC's governing body, please email us: info@mssafeschools.org

Please keep up the good fight, and finally, to all the students have a safe and relaxing spring break.

Best Regards,

Queer Youth Advisory Board
Mississippi Safe Schools Coalition

1. Thanks for your work
I grew up and lived in Mississippi for over half a century. I moved to Arizona about 3 years ago and so I still care deeply about Mississippi. Mississippi needs to change in so many ways, as does Arizona, and efforts like this are not only good, but brave. Keep up the good fight.

2. After Prop H8 passed here, I promised me
I'd never wait for leadership again. So, from here on out, all my screw ups belong only to me. lol
