Archbishop Calls Children "Spontaneously Homosexual"

Brazilian archbishop Dadeus Grings came under fire Wednesday for saying children are "spontaneously homosexual" and society at large is pedophilic, after allegedly making the comments to a reporter after a press conference.

"We know that the adolescent is spontaneously homosexual," Grings said. "Boys play with boys, girls play with girls. If there is no proper guidance, this sticks. The question is — how are we going to educate our children to use a sexuality that is human and suitable?"

"Society today is {pedophilic}, that is the problem. So, people easily fall into it. And the fact it is denounced is a good sign," he said in the newspaper, according to the Associated Press.

Regarding gay rights, Grings also said, "When we begin to say they have rights, rights to demonstrate publicly, pretty soon, we'll find the rights of pedophiles."

but his conclusions are erroneous and presumptive.

Teens are a riot of hormones and morphological change and they're just discovering how all the mechanics of sex work. That's not "homosexual" so much as figuring out how things work. It certainly has nothing to do with aligning one's self to an orientation or getting "stuck" by having a disturbing torrid dream or a strange summer camp experience. Do NOT get me started on band camp.

But about that gay thing, if you aren't one then shut the fuck up about it.

That's why he assumes that everyone else is sexually drawn to their own gender -- it's a way to deny that homosexuality per se even exists. He may frequently feel "tempted" to have sex with other men -- and really have no interest in women -- but that doesn't mean he's gay, in his mind. He doesn't understand that, after the hormones are fully set in, most people are strongly attracted to the opposite sex.

10. Actually, that's what I thought many of them thought.

So many priests and hierarchy are gay themselves, they (consciously or unconsciously) assume EVERYONE faces that same "temptation." That all people, in essence, are biologically inclined toward being gay. That's why they don't believe in something called "homosexuality" -- they think all men are inclined to have sex with each other -- it's only a matter of resisting the temptation to engage in those sexual acts. And women aren't of any interest except for bearing children.
