A sad irony on this very happy day |

After Matt came out to me, he once asked if I thought gay couples would ever be allowed to get married. I told him I didn't think it would happen in my lifetime, but it probably would in his. It is so sad, and ironic, that it turned out the other way. But this case warms my heart, to think that his dream is still coming true.
end of quote What a bittersweet quote.

1. And a salute to Dennis who would have whooped and cheered. |

But also didn't live to see the day. The man who lived with him and loved him still does. But nah, they weren't married.

2. My friend Randy Taylor didn't live to see this day |

If I believed in an afterlife, I'd get a kick from the thought of Randy, a 3-tour Marine Infantry Vietnam combat vet and S.F. cop, celebrating in heaven tonight.
Sadly, we lost Randy too soon to AIDS. But I still get a kick just from knowing that what Randy wanted is finally coming to pass. :)
