Question for Gay & Lesbian folks, and our friends and allies
Did you honestly think that gay marriage would ever be legal in your lifetime?

Having been with Paul since my 20's I wanted nothing more than to marry him. I knew, though, it would not be 'legal' in terms of being recognized by the state and federal governments.

I'm completely in awe over how quickly things have changed, especially recent developments.

What about you?

2. I am married.
New Jersey has civil unions. I think that marriage equality will happen in the next few years.

4. I am married as well, but...
It's only recognized by a few states. Certainly not my backward-thinking home state. And currently I cannot file married with the federal government.

But it's coming.

8. There are some days I have the feeling we'll have legal MJ
before there'll be full legal marriage for s/s couples.

Most days, I think I might live long enough to see it and even have it. I'm 53 and my partner of almost 15 years will be 48 next month. It could happen. I'm not giving up hope.
