The Proposition 8ruling will not be a huge election factor this year, according to the Washington Post.

While some marriage equality advocates feared the ruling would fuel social conservatives in the Republican Party, it seems that the matter is not going to have a large effect on elections.

Geoff Garin, a Democratic pollster said, “The impact is minimal- certainly compared to what it might have been in other years and in other circumstances. The economy is such a dominant issue and people are so focused on the day-to-day challenges in life that I think this will pale in comparison.”
