Edited on Mon Aug-30-10 08:40 PM by Botany
I got the first 4 but what do the last 2 letters mean

I saw this in an NY Times op ed about Ken Mehlman. :puke:

http://opinionator.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/08/27/a-republican-comes-out-of-the-closet/?ref=opinion

" ...... I wish him contentment of the sort that means he will never betray himself, or any other members of his LGBTQI family, again.”

Is I = I don't know

20. Is there a designation for an asexual human?
I once heard Clint Eastwood call himself asexual. I think I've finally reached the age where I understand what he meant.

7. basically it covers every possible person in their sexual identity
except for straight, and so they might as well add an S to the end! GLBTQIS = Everyone has equal rights! Someday we won't have to have entire groups set up fighting for the equal rights of all, but until then, I commend everyone involved in the fight for equality, especially those who are Straight, and those who have much to lose by coming out and risking it all for the rights of others.

Pansexual, queer, and ally are also included these days. So if you see the letter p, a, and a second q, you will know! :)

16. I thought the Q was Queer....
which basically is a self-determination based on a spectrum of gender identity. As in Gender-queer.

I do like the idea of of adding an S and just making it everybody, but I personally do not believe that anyone is completely straight - or completely homosexual for that matter.

Awful cultural stigma of 'hermaphrodite' - straight term.

Q - can be both for queer and questing.
There are 'straight' queers in our community.
Questing is for people who may have questions -
They may or may not have had same sex relations yet.
