Prayers/Vibes for videotaped student Tyler Clementi & his family and justice to find his tormentors

Clementi's post on his Facebook page, dated Sept. 22 at 8:42 p.m. read, "Jumping off the gw bridge sorry."

Clementi's body has not been recovered, but police have pulled an unidentified male body from the Hudson River just north of the bridge.

May the hateful hearts of the two who thought it was great to humiliate him in the act of a sex act find what they deserve.

My personal comment - what vicious evil hearts these two have to be so coldly vicious to the young man. In a country where both of them would be subjected to bullying for their race, it is sickening, literally, to see them take away Mr. Clementi's privacy and outright destroy his most private moments. Shame is upon them for life. God bless young Tyler, for you did nothing wrong, and I wish you didn't think that this was the end. It is sad that this country had conditioned you to believe you were bad for being Gay, but I understand, as many do, that just having your naked self shown in a sex act against your knowledge would make anyone consider suicide. I wish people would teach their children respect instead of hate...

thanks for caring, as I and many here do, about the lives of the victims of anti-Gay violence that comes in many forms...

THE TWO CRIMINALS DESERVE THE FULL 5 YEAR MAXIMUM! Dharum Ravi and Molly Wei should spend 5 years in prison for breaking privacy matters of the most private of issues, your own body. Justice should be served for Tyler's family. He was an aspiring violinist, and he was tormented by their gross actions that clearly they would not want someone doing to them.

Rutgers Freshman Commits Suicide After Students Out Him As Gay
Posted September 29th, 2010 by Evan Hurst

....Two students, Dharun Ravi and Molly Wei, have been charged with two counts each of invasion of privacy after allegedly placing a camera in Clementi’s room and livestreaming the recording online on Sept. 19, according to a written statement by New Jersey’s Middlesex County Prosecutor Bruce Kaplan.

Garden State Equality released the following statement:

Garden State Equality
For immediate release
Wednesday, September 29, 2010
Statement of Garden State Equality Chair Steven Goldstein

All of us at Garden State Equality are in a state of shock over one of the most unconscionable, hate-related deaths of a student in the history of the State of New Jersey. Today we learned that a Rutgers freshman committed suicide by jumping off the George Washington Bridge after his roommate and other students apparently broadcast the freshman – without his knowledge – making out with another man. According to reports, the other students disseminated the video widely by Twitter. The freshman was seemingly so distraught, he leapt to his death.

.....That the victim’s roommate was also a freshman, just months out of high school, demonstrates once again that our high schools are not doing enough to educate their students that harassment, intimidation and bullying of other students is unacceptable in every instance. It is grotesque to think that people such as these alleged perpetrators went onto college without, apparently, ever having been taught basic life lessons of decency – and that they made their way through the educational system before allegedly committing this unconscionable act.

..............

Your statement said it all. More people need to learn respect and decency in this world we live in where this kind of madness is done in "fun" and not given a thought to what it may do to another human being. Look at this teenage girl who killed herself when she was bullied by others: Alexis Pilkington, 17, Commits Suicide: Another Victim of Cyberbullying? http://www.truecrimereport.com/2010/03/alexis_pilkington_17_commits_s.php

These things are so inhuman it is terrifying and it needs more supervision before more innocent people are placed in this terrible situation!

6. thanks for the info. senseless. they deserve several years in prison because of the indecency of
their crime, which was showing a person nude & making out, against their knowledge. Sensitive individuals would be absolutely horrified to have this done to them, and this violinist appears to have been a wonderful young man, and they thought of this as something entertaining to post flippantly on Twitter!

REGARDING THE CRIMES OF RAVI & WEI ---

According to Middlesex County Prosecutor Bruce Kaplan, it is a fourth-degree crime to collect or view images depicting nudity or sexual content of an individual without that person's consent. The crime becomes a third-degree offense if the images are transmitted or distributed. (also, who knows if they will be charged with Hate Crimes, because in the action of their crime breaking Clementi's sexuality was a driving force for their actions, as stated by Ravi's Tweets saying "Yay" when he mentions his roommate is with a guy making out, and Ravi also "dares" anyone to go look at his broadcast on video. Nice... bigot. At least he has set himself up regarding the evidence.

Many were mourning the death of Clementi on a Facebook Tribute page set up in his honor Wednesday.

"My prayers are with you," wrote Jeannine Torres. "The cruelty of others is incomprehensible. May you rest in peace, know that your loss is not in vein, many will learn."

10. It's absolutely heartbreaking.
To quote an old Three Dog Night song, how can people be so heartless - how can people be so cruel?

Compassion is created in children by their parents. Or not.
