Since when is "teabagger" a homophobic term
Edited on Sun Oct-03-10 08:54 PM by davidinalameda
http://punditpress.blogspot.com/2010/10/schultz-pro-socialist-sexist-homophobic.html

this post makes absolutely no sense

Ed Schultz, a liberal commentator who has a television and radio show, has made it a common theme on his show to bash conservatives on a daily basis, calling them sexist, homophobic, and so on. Most recently he got in hot water for calling New Jersey governor Chris Christie a "cold-hearted, fat slob." In the meantime, he prides himself on his 'egalitarian' mindset. He is a "progressive," he says, nothing more. But be warned, if you should ever look in to what he allows on his Facebook pages, you will find a stream of homophobia, sexism, and pro-Socialist garbage.

For example, take this homophobic and sexist post, written by a man on Ed Schultz's own page (name and profile picture removed):
Not only does Schultz allow his fans to call members of the Tea Party a homophobic and pejorative term "teabaggers," but he also allows them to post sexist images of Christine O'Donnell, the Republican candidate for Senate in Delaware. The picture in the post, when clicked on, is this:

teabagging is not a gay sex act. I don't find it homophobic to refer to those nutsacks as teabaggers, A bit of a stretch, after all Samantha at sex and the city described it years back

Oh, I get the other part, but...

What's wrong with calling Chris Christie a "cold-hearted, fat slob."?

4. Interesting because i agree that it is a slang term for a sexual
act which is certainly not specific to either gay or heterosexual sex. But I was corrected when engaged in a political discussion with one of my like minded gay neighbors at a summer barbeque a few months ago. He just corrected to Tea party, but I didn't have any opportunity to follow-up because other neighbors came up about then. Hey,the Tea Partiers were the ones who referred to themselves as teabaggers early on, even draping them all over their head and signs....

7. Teabagging is supposedly a homosexual act
It used to be about one guy putting his cojones in another guy's mouth.

And then along came the conservatives to make it into something REALLY filthy!

12. While it can apply to women, I do see a lot of homosexual references used to denigrate Republicans.
They are often used in the context of hypocrisy, which is valid. But it bothers me when it plays into the idea that gay sex is dirty. This implication is what gives the insult its impact.

14. For reference, see the 1998 John Waters film 'Pecker', in which the word and act of "teabagging" is
introduced. If it was used any earlier than that, it must have been way below the cultural radar.

16. Lots of straights
teabag!!! It's certainly not something that's exclusive to the gay community. Lots of people have learned to love teabagging! :)
