My FB post re: Ignoring msgs about becoming ex-gay in light of the recent teen suicides

I have debated if I wanted to post this or not for awhile.
A month ago, I got a message from a friend. She said she was thinking about my family and praying for me. I replied and thanked her. I figured as a single parent with 3 kids, I could use all the help I could get. She replied, sending me links telling me how to ...cure myself of gay. Having dealt with that kind of "love" (hate) for so long, I just ignored it.
Over the past several weeks, I have come home and read article after article about teens killing themselves because they were gay or perceived to be gay. One as young as 13 recently. I have had 20+ years of hearing it and I have built up e...nough self love to ignore it. These young kids have not had that chance. I CAN IGNORE IT NO LONGER!
Your religion does not give you the right to tell others how to live. You do not have the right to tell kids they are bad or going to hell or needing to repent. How dare you! I do not care if this offends you. Be offended because I am too. Kids lives are more important than your feelings. You can get over it or de-friend me. At this point, I don't care which you do.
When I see religious hate posted or when it is sent to me, I will no longer be silent and respectful of their beliefs. They are not being silent. They are not respectful. And kids are dying.

3. I've been hearing this RW religious BS for over 50 years and I am F'en fed up

with it too. NO religious person has the right to tell me how the F I am going to lead my life, or infer to me that they talk with god or whomever and get special messages from them. Funny how the fundies screech so much about how they are "oppressed" and maligned in th' librul media and elsewhere—and look at how hatefully they talk about, oppress and fear-monger against other religions in America.

Don't get me wrong, I think all religions are basically spewing unbelievable nonsense, but what a racket! Truly there's no better way to make a HUGE living than by creating or pushing a religion.

OK, some "I'm not that kind of christian" christian will chastise me. Can you be honest with me, and with yourself, that you, I, and every atheist who claims to "know" there's no god, if we are all honest, we are all agnostic?
