Mens Group
I just wanted to take a temp check of gay or trans men in this forum, would you use the mens groups, or would it by default become a straight mens group?

1. I would use it and I think it would probably default to a straight men's group.
Especially given the ratio of straight men to gay/bi/trans men on this board. That doesn't mean that I believe it would automatically lack utility for or be hostile to us, but the GLBT Forum is more immediately responsive to our specific needs.

2. Ideally, it would be a good venue to raise awareness about issues that face GBT men.

Much like it could be a good venue to build solidarity for/among men in other minority groups. Much like women's studies is not hostile to LBT women.

Most discussions will undoubtedly cut across the various interest groups. Education, the economy, jobs and health are issues for all men.

3. I agree that there are issues common to us all.
A Men's Group would be worth trying.

5. I think it's a good idea. We could have our own "photography contests"

8. I will probably check in there from time to time.
While I'm skeptical, I agree with others that the forum definitely has potential. We'll see how it goes.
