Lunch and learn how some worried progressives want teh gay to STFU -- Pam Spaulding
The homos just can't help it -- they are always to blame when the Dems screw up and are threatened with being bounced out of office by the GOP.

You've seen the sentiment, particularly over at the Great Orange Satan in the comments. Blend regular Clarknt67 has done his best to keep LGBT conversations open and civil between straight progressive (purported allies) who tire of the LGBT community holding this administration accountable. The bogus fear that criticism = low voter motivation to turn out at the polls -- is so absurd. It's always anything except the poor performance of Congress and this President in these first two years in power.

The LGBT (and immigration reform folks) rang the bell early that this administration was compromising and ignoring our issues and that soon enough, the progressives would figure out they were getting screwed even as they worshipped the President.

And now, with it looking like it may be a bloodbath in Congress, here we go -- the equivalent of: Dammit, why can't you fags, dykes and trannies just STFU and cut our Dems some slack!

More at Pam's House Blend.

1. Who else is waiting for the "blame game?"
If the democrats lose the House or Senate, how long before we are to blame?

3. Where have you been?
We've been blamed even before the election.

Just a matter of time.

2. I would hope that TRUE Progressives would not share that attitude.
We know that we either all triumph together, or we hang together. Civil rights=humans rights=Gay rights=women's rights!

Did we wait for all segregation to stop by legislation..or were there court decisions that instigated the beginning of the end?!!

Does "Brown vs The Board of Education" ring any bells?????????????
By how many years did that decision precede the Civil Right Act??

5. Don't mind us,
We'll just quietly endure a system that persecutes and segregates us while Democrats continue to twiddle their thumbs, no biggie.

6. Same bullshit all the time
Have any of us ever claimed our rights trump everything else? Why doesn't she say what she's really thinking..."I'm sick of hearing about your pet issues--now STFU and let's worry about something real!"

7. Close - more like "I'm sick of hearing about your pet issues--now STFU and let's worry about
MY pet issues."

8. Right
But their pet issues are always super-duper important, whereas ours are just little equines.
