"A Pentagon spokeswoman says recruiters have been told that they must accept gay applicants"

They must, more than Obama, realize all hope for keeping DADT is over. It is AP though so grain of salt.

1. "more than Obama"
I don't think that is a fair characterization. If the DOD is telling recruiters this, then it is almost certainly being done with the knowledge and consent of the White House.

3. Now THIS is an example
of a post I would like to be able to hit a LIKE button for! The president has continued to express his support of eliminating DADT,
but wants to be sure it is done in a manner that cannot be undone. ......Big  for this one......Yeah!

5. "top level guidance", like it says in the article
Bizarre to imagine that Obama is "unaware" or something.

6. Amen to that.
The fact that the White House is committed to following proper legal guidelines for ending this nonsense is seen in some quarters as a secret desire to keep the policy. Which makes about as much sense as thinking Obama is a secret anything else.

I would guess that the DOD is using the current court order as a kind of testing ground for procedures to follow a full repeal.
