Has anyone read "Hero" by Perry Moore?

Hero (2007) is a Lambda-winning first novel by openly gay film producer and novelist Perry Moore. The fantasy novel is about a teenage superhero, Thom Creed, who must deal with his ex-superhero father's disgrace, his own sexuality, and a murderer stalking the world's heroes.

I read the book. I was kind of disappointed in it, though I will admit it was a pretty decent read. I did not know the reason behind Mr. Moore writing the story (see the wiki link) and may have to go back and re-read it.

1. Mega weird! I just started reading the novel at the suggestion...

... of a ( straight) friend of mind.

I'm not a fiction reader by nature but agreed to give this a go 'cause my amiga was so insistent that I read it.

First impresssion after thirty or so pages: better than I expected. ( Normally see words like "superhero" and I immediately glaze over.)

I had never heard of it or him ( Moore), hence " mega-weird". I thought I was the only one in the world reading it.

I'll let you know what I think when ( if?) I finish it.
