Dan Savage to NOM - What it will take to get your fucking rainbows back
HomoQuotable - Dan Savage

"Let's make a deal: give us our full civil equality—repeal DOMA, let us marry legally in all fifty states, end DADT, pass ENDA, stop torturing gay kids to death—and we'll let you have your fucking rainbows back." - Dan Savage on yesterday demand by NOM that queers stop using the rainbow.

3. NOM can kiss my ass (with someone else's lips!)
They're flipped out over rainbows? Goddam those are the most insane and insanely stupid people on earth. We've been using rainbows on everything we could reach since the 80s. They're awfully slow to catch on.

6. Oh, why not :-) Life NEEDS a little whimsy
I love taking pictures of rainbows. Rainbows are shy and ever-so ephemeral. Each one is completely unique in all the universe; there has never quite been each one's like and once that one is gone, there will never-ever be another one exactly like it. Yeah, it's simple physics, but it's awfully cool and awfully pretty physics. I've got a collection of pics (not very good -- many are with a cell phone. The quantity and quality is limited by that. But when you know you're witnessing something that will never be again, you stop in a safe place and snap with whatchagot.

Anyone who knows me knows I think everyone ought to appreciate being one of the few to see Today's Production, a one of a kind performance art. Nobody has a copyright on that. Anyone who gets to see one is privileged. If they truly believe G'd doesn't want us to use a rainbow SHe wouldn't have invited us to any of Hir shows.

There are two and only two honest-to-goodness forms of communication that every sighted human understands: the moon and a rainbow. How many times have you looked up and said, "Wow! I hope ... is seeing this"? Then the next day or so, it will come up in conversation. Even if ... can't see it from where you are or may even be very far away, those two things still bind you if you've ever enjoyed seeing them at all. (Cue Kate Smith and Kermit, heh)

I'm with you. Rainbow wars, indeed. There's the difference between us and them. Our rainbows say "being together". Their rainbows (in their shades of black and white -- not even gray) want to divide and tear things apart. It must be a painful and sorrowful life they lead.

I love your site. I left a tab open so I can run back after I post this.

7. there's still time
to send all your loved ones some Rainbows the holiday! We ship right away.

And yes indeed, the rainbow is all inclusive. I also believe that each of us are healed by the colors; which is why we love making and sending our mobiles everywhere. I have had hardened "cowboys" tell me how much they love the windsocks. I think the constant full spectrum color changes the dna structure somehow...yes, I hear that "woowoo woowoo" sound in the background. That's what happens when you work with this stuff for 26 years. My partner designs everything we sell. In some ways its like being in Santa's workshop as a rainbow elf.

4. Just out of curiousity, is there any reason why everyone can use the rainbow?
This sounds like one of those tests they put us through. First by using the "N" word, then pushing the envelope on the "Jews own the world" meme.

Of course, this is slightly different. It is, afterall, a rainbow. Can anyone trademark the sun?

I think they're just trying to pick a fight.

8. Nope...
not trademarable. This is just more of their stupid whining that will only increase as history continues leaving them behind.

11. They always accuse us of 'playing the victim'.
Sounds more like projection at this point.
