Will DADT and pre-DADT discharges be forgiven? |
|
I'm a good friend with someone who was in the military in the 50s or 60s, and he was dishonorably discharged for fooling around with someone in his barracks while drunk. He's had to hide this at various times in his life.
I'm curious to know if discharges like his, as well as discharges under DADT, will be forgiven in any sense. Does anyone have info on this?

2. Everyone has said that people who have been discharged can re-enlist. |
|
I know Dan Choi is very eager to re-enlist.
As it should be.

3. Was Choi discharged honorably or dishonorably? |
|
I have no idea if this factor makes a difference here.

4. I hope that gay people in the military who were discharged only for being gay get reinstated and don |

don't lose anything.
However, if some people (either gay or heterosexual) have acted in ways that were against military rules (i.e., in drunken stupor, or in obscene ways)... I think the military rules should apply for all. . .both gays and straight!
