Phyllis Schlafly: The Problem With Gays? "They Are Trying to Make Us Respect Them"
We here at Daily RFT were reading a somewhat wonkish wire story this weekend about gay marriage when we came across the following bombshell from St. Louisan Phyllis Schlafly, president of the Eagle Forum.

Schalfly, as quoted in the article, believes that the national dialogue about gay marriage proves than an "aggressive well-funded pressure group can achieve goals contrary to what the majority of people want."

"I think same-sex marriage would be a terrible mistake," she adds. "I don't think there are any good arguments for it."

But what really made our jaw drop was the insulting way in which she describes same-sex couples who live together and the fact that homosexuals just can't be admired -- no matter what.

I think she is a terrible mistake; no good arguments for her!

5. Sometimes snakes have trouble shedding their old skin....
Guess it must be true for the "mortal coil" for some. They maintain and just keep striking at everyone who enters their path. ;)

3. The Golden Rule can be summed up
into one word -- respect. Doing unto others as you would have them do unto you. Jesus said that this commandment was the sum of the other commandments. Schlafly is not only a failure as a Christian, she's a failure as a human being.

9. That is the point! I have a problem with "Tolerance". It comes from an attitude of superiority.
Everyone should be given respect. Equal respect. Trust, on the other hand should be earned. But common human respect should be given without equivocation.

That is the fact...Jack. Or Phyllis as the case might be.

11. When you turn the mirror on them it's just a reflection of their
evil souls.

Some religious fanatics just can't be admired -- no matter what.

That's all...
