Apple allows "ex-gay" app; limits access (by age) to plain old "gay" apps.

Pardon my French, but WTF? Why does Apple require you to click some "yes I'm old enough" button when downloading gay apps on the iPhone, but when downloading "ex-gay" apps - i.e., apps built by hateful anti-gay bigots who falsely tell young impressionable children that they can pray away the gay - Apple has no restrictions at all on that app. In spite of the fact that federal statistics show 1 in 3 gay kids tries to commit suicide. In spite of the fact that the very first thing in the FAQ of the app is focused at kids.

IMHO, if regular "gay" apps are considered inappropriate for children, then this app should be held to exactly the same standard. Otherwise it looks like Apple believes that gayness is bad for kids, but the "ex-gay" mind-rapers are not.

1. Absolutely! I have had several emails with Wayne Besen of Truth Wins Out about the ex-gay BS, &

this information from the blog is very aggravating. They can have their app for general audiences, but GLBT apps are considered age-restricted? WTF... that's just wrong. I just spent several minutes trying to find a way to state that opinion to apple.com but they have all their feedback requests with only subjects that deal with a product not working, updates, etc, when you go to write them, so you have no idea if your complaint will transferred or just deleted!

As I shared with Wayne, wee all know what horrible outcomes occur for many of the GLBTQ youth that attend these "God doesn't want you to be homosexual" camps - which is a lie they say that crap, and there's plenty of them down here in FL and they go by differing names other than Exodus Int'l. I guess I'll just call 1-800-myapple Monday and ask who to contact, it probably means more calling than an email anyhow.

We need to change get this changed, and frankly, I think it's clearly a judgmental app, and will certainly say why if I can find the right person.
