Gay Republican rebel
Tsien currently serves as vice president for development of the Florida Gold Coast Log Cabin Republicans, the gay wing of the Republican party.

“We’re just as much a part of the Republican base as the women’s clubs or the young Republicans,” he insists. “We’re chartered by the state party. We’re treated like everyone else.”

Well, the Republicans treat him like everyone else, he says.

“We get more hostility from the gay community than from fellow Republicans,” he says.“Republicans are glad we’re here. Republicans are a very diverse group. It’s gays that wish we didn’t exist.”

Ah, c'mon, sweetie ... you got it all wrong. We don't wish that you didn't exist. We just wish you could pull your head out of your ass long enough to smell something other than your own shit.

1. Well duh. Republicans want the vote so they can get the power needed to
pass laws that hurt us by any means necessary.

The man's a fool.

2. He's right, I DO wish LCRs didn't exist.
It makes me so mad to see fellow GLBT people voting for the very people who are trying to take away our rights and make it harder to get equal ones.

3. Confused Republicans
It would make much more sense for them to be Independent if they have any issue with Democrats.

4. Gay Republicans
remind me of a Jewish store keeper in Berlin in the 1930's with a sign in his window during those elections which read "Jews for Hitler".

5. What a sad little victim. My heart bleeds for him
Those nasty libruls who want gays to be treated like humans instead of carnival freeks don't like you to enable their enemies. That is so sad! I am going to cry. A whole really lot. :sarcasm:

You give aid and comfort to the enemy...you are a traitor. The pukes are the enemies of the LGBT community. So if you are treated in a way fitting your behavior, don't come crying to me.

6. LCR did not endorse bush. However: you can't be a Republican and Gay
That's their rules, not mine. And if it isn't their rules, why does their recent history prove otherwise? Gay Republicans are shunned by republicans.

Oh well, history tells of many instances where people will do crazy things to "belong." And Gays lead the way with "passing." But nothing is worse than turning your back on Gay rights and becoming a Republican.

7. A lot of Republicans don't mind gays
As long as they "keep it to themselves" and don't ask for any equal rights.

8. I still retch at the thought of Log Cabin Republicans.
Edited on Mon Oct-10-05 02:27 AM by Jamastiene
I think my English teacher is one of them. He certainly acts like one. It's disgusting. What a wasted opportunity for good in this hellhole of a town where I live. This guy has potential though. I just have to figure out how to get along with him. I think we both kind of know the other is gay/lesbian. I guess if he IS a LCR, it's best we never speak of it much. I just can't get along with right wing gay people. They tend to be rabid, just like the other right wingers are.

10. He isn't smart. At all. Or human
On gay marriage, Tsien is “personally hesitant. With marriage comes divorce. Aren’t we all interested in asset protection?”

“Gay culture in general can’t deal with a man having sex with a woman,” he says.

“I’m not an intellectual, but I’m afraid an unbridled right to privacy would permit child molesters and domestic violence.”

“I don’t want to see gays suing everybody for no reason. Minorities can get evil. Some will make up stories to say someone is anti-Semitic or racist. Remember when those black kids burnt down churches and made it look like a white man did it?”

Of course, being gay isn't a minority, but being chinese is:

However, Tsien is proud of his service on civil rights boards such as the Organization of Chinese Americans and the Asian-American Council.

Seriously, though, this guy's brain is about the size of a pebble.

On Iraq, Tsien says he “fully supports our troops and our president. I’m 100% supportive of the war. I’m sure Iraq had WMD and we just haven’t found them yet."

He even admits it.

Regarding the right to privacy, a key issue in Supreme Court nominations, and the basis for judicial review of anti-sodomy laws, Tsien says, “I’m not an intellectual, but I’m afraid an unbridled right to privacy would permit child molesters and domestic violence.”
