Florida Gay Marriage Foes Accused Of 'Trying To Pull A Fast One'
http://www.365gay.com/newscon05/10/101205florida.htm

Lawyers for six same-sex couples fighting to block a proposed amendment banning gay marriage from going to voters in Florida is accusing proponents of the measure of "talking out of both sides of their mouth".

In a brief filed Wednesday with the Florida Supreme Court the ACLU says that the amendment would also bar civil unions and would strip couples of domestic partner benefits.

Florida4Marriage, which is tied to conservative Christian churches, has denied the amendment would do anything other than prevent same-sex couples from marrying. In its initial brief the group's lawyer, Liberty Counsel, said: "By casting their ballot in favor of marriage as the union of one man and one woman, voters are not being asked to reject rights and protections for same-sex or unmarried couples."
