Gay Groups: Miers Letters To Bush Cause For Questioning

A series of letters written by Supreme Court nominee Harriet Miers to George W. Bush when he was governor of Texas are raising questions from conservatives and liberals alike and have left LGBT groups demanding tough questions be asked of the President's ardent admirer during her Senate confirmation hearings.

The letters are part of a bundle of more than 2,000 pages of documents released yesterday by the Texas State Library.

Most of the documents were routine legal memos, press releases and transcripts, but the letters offer a rare glimpse into the psyche of the woman Bush wants to place on the high court.

In a brief 1995 note, she thanked Bush for a ride in a plane with him, calling it "cool!"
