Cubs continue support of LGBT youth

CHICAGO -- Last year, the Cubs became Chicago's first professional sports team to have a float in the city's Gay Pride Parade. This year, the team has gone a step further in its support of the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bi- or transsexual) community.

Cubs owner and board member Laura Ricketts, along with members of the Cubs community relations and media relations departments, created a video in support of the "It Gets Better" campaign and The Trevor Project, which offer support and resources for LGBT youth who are facing bullying.

The video, produced for the Cubs by Comcast SportsNet, features Cubs players Ryan Dempster, Marlon Byrd, Darwin Barney, manager Mike Quade, former Cub and first-base coach Bob Dernier and Ricketts.
