Opposition To Texas Anti-Gay Amendment Grows
http://www.365gay.com/newscon05/10/101805texasBan.htm

Twenty-two elected officials from the Austin area have announced their opposition to a proposed constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage.

"Let's not get into the habit of taking our opinions and trying to turn them into laws," Austin Mayor Will Wynn told a news conference.

"To me, a fundamental cultural characteristic of Texans is that we mind our own business and that in Texas there is more than enough room to practice one's beliefs for different people to have different opinions."

1. Just a FYI

I received an e-mail from Move-On which was directed to Texas members about a half hour ago. The e-mail was about Prop 2 and what position, if any, they should take. If you are a Move-On member, keep an eye out for it and respond.

2. I'm afraid that passage of this awful amendment is likely
going to be a done-deal. . .though I sense that, at least in other states, the momentum is starting to sputter out. . .people are starting to see harmful results that were never intended.

3. Other states had strong opposition in polls to their amendments too.
But come election day, every one was passed. I'd like to see who is behind these polls - I wouldn't be surprised if they were rigged to keep opponents complacent so they wouldn't feel the need to bother voting.
