Fake hate crimes frustrate activists
Fake hate crimes have become fodder for conservative bloggers and columnists who cite them to bolster their position that hate-crime legislation is unnecessary and a threat to freedom of expression.

“There are a lot of more phony ‘hate crimes’ padding the count than the bare numbers reported tell us,” wrote conservative columnist Samuel Francis.

He argued that hate-crime laws “are a long step toward the totalitarian manipulation of expression, thought and feeling that George Orwell warned us about.”

But Clarence Patton, acting executive director of the New York Çity Gay & Lesbian Anti-Violence Project, said the conservatives are ignoring the numerous real hate crimes that are well documented and confirmed by law enforcement officials.

1. that is why one has to extremely aggressive
with folk like these -- the truth doesn't matter.
and mostly you can't hurt them personally -- so you have to portray them as the vile, low life, scum they are -- and make sure other people are picking up on the description.

2. You gotta love it when "moral" people start screaming...
... about their "fundamental constitution right" to engage in hatred, and how "oppressed" they are when it is a criminal act to incite or engage in violence against other human beings.

3. Just wait until a bar full of angry gay guys start rioting...

in a state where the hate crimes statute don't include no words like , "sexual orientation."

Those people are idiots.

When they start taking away the rights of people to marry and care for their children on the basis of "sexual orientation" then it really is in their own self-interest to include "sexual orientation" language in hate crimes laws.

But then, what are the odds that a bunch of gay people will take to the streets and go straight-bashing and burning cars with "Bush/Cheney" stickers on them?

This is the real reason they don't want gays in the military.

They don't want gay people learning how to fight.

For the same reason those very same people made it illegal to teach slaves to read.
