Study Highlights Widespread Gay Bias In Maine
http://www.365gay.com/newscon05/10/102105maine.htm

A study released in advance of next month's gay rights referendum concluded that discrimination against gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered individuals is a serious problem in Maine.

The Maine legislature passed a civil rights bill to protect gays, lesbians and the transgendered from discrimination in housing, employment and credit and it was signed by Governor John Baldacci in March (story).

The Christian Civic League of Maine immediately began a repeal effort, gathering enough signatures to force the issue onto next month's ballot.

2. How do we counter bigotry?
Aside from fairness through legislation.

How do we promote a positive image of gay- Americans?
