If a proposed amendment to the Arizona State Constitution were limited to same-sex marriage it would win overwhelming approval according to a new poll.

But, when the full wording of the proposed amendment is put to prospective voters, the measure would fail, another survey shows.

The amendment would ban gay marriage, civil unions, and "any benefits of marriage" to same-sex couples.

Many people don't think about that word in it's legal implications, but it's religious ones.

where the religious wingnuts lied their intentions all the way through the voting only to use the amendment to attack simple health benefits is starting to awaken a few more voters. . .
Typical for rightwingers, they lie about the real damage the amendment will do and once it passes, immediate attack everything else in place. People might be stupid, but they eventually figure out that they've been lied to.
