Edited on Mon Oct-24-05 12:46 PM by MuseRider
Just up and already updated! Please check it out and bookmark it. We have just begun. The meeting yesterday was so positive, lots of forward movement. I will update as things go along. Our first news blast goes out today or tomorrow.

Edit I was so excited I forgot the link  http://kansasequalitycoalition.org/

3. Awesome, MuseRider!
I'm going to add the website to my page of resource links on my LGBT Dems club page when I update the site later today!

Thanks for the posting!

FYI - I really enjoyed the Fairness Summit here in KC over the weekend and I even took a copy of Diane's book for her to sign. :)

5. WOW!
Thanks and again wow.

I did not know Diane had written a book. I have just recently met her since we started on the steering committee together. I am not surprised, she is wonderful and really fun to be around. Bright and witty.

So, did you learn a lot and have a good time? I am glad you went, I would have loved to have been there.

6. Diane's book
... is titled "The New Civil War" and came out in 1997, I think. It's a very good primer to give straight allies an overview on LGBT issues and a way to get involved. The copy she signed was my third copy. I keep loaning mine out.

I really enjoyed the summit. I wish I could have gone to all the breakout sessions, but the one's I did attend were good. I especially liked the one on working with the media, but then that's kind of my "niche" since I used to be in the media and have worked in public relations. I would have liked to have heard Diane speak more instead of moderating a panel discussion with a Democrat, a member of the Log Cabin Republicans and a Green Party spokesperson. (I'm not very happy with the Greens locally, so I could have done without them at all ... but that's another story.)

I also enjoyed meeting Paul Loeb (and getting his autograph on a copy of his book "Soul of a Citizen" ... LOL! I'm such a "celebrity whore!")

Wish I had felt like sticking around to see "Good Night and Good Luck" with the folks from the summit Saturday night, but after having a booth to work at the Friday kick-off and attending sessions all day Saturday, I didn't much feel like going to a movie.
