"Ex-gay" (yeah, right!) gets own radio show
Oh this is just too precious!

Stephen Bennett, the self-described "ex-gay" Christian recording artist with the poofy hair-do like no straight guy has worn since the '70s, has announced he'll be starting up his own radio show ... and on Halloween, of all the gay high holy days!

SBM’s brand new, daily half-an-hour radio broadcast Straight Talk Radio debuts worldwide on October 31, 2005! Listen 7 days a week (STR’s Weekend Edition streams ON-LINE only.) Check your local Christian radio stations for programming guides, as radio stations will be added periodically. Currently, Straight Talk Radio will be debuting in 8 states nationwide! And for those of you who don’t have Straight Talk Radio on your station yet, you can listen in EVERYDAY – ON DEMAND, right from your own computer! Simply log on DAILY to www.StraightTalkRadio.org!

Do you want to have Straight Talk Radio air on your local Christian Radio Station? You can help SBM proclaim the truth about one of the most important and controversial topics of our day: homosexuality. Why not prayerfully consider SPONSORING the weekly program on your Christian Radio Station? Your sponsorship is 100% TAX DEDUCTIBLE and could help reach MILLIONS worldwide, and THOUSANDS in your immediate area! Call SBM today at 1-800-832-3623 and ask for Amanda Sova for further information on how to sponsor Straight Talk Radio on your Christian Radio Station today!

Funny how his URL (www.straighttalkradio.org) can easily be confused with www.straighttalkradio.com which takes you to Air America Minnesota! I wonder how many of his dozen or so listeners will make a mistake typing in the URL? Maybe a little exposure to Air America will do them some good.

3. Funny how so many "ex-gays" want to spend so much of their time
talking about being gay.

4. So true! ... Once you've gone 'ex-gay' there's no other way!
Actually, there's a lot of truth in what you say, tanyev.

In Wayne Besen's book "Anything But Straight," he comments that a lot of the "ex-gays" who claim they have been sucessfully "cured" turn around and go into the "ex-gay" business. It's almost like they want to constantly reinforce their conditioning by repeating it over and over to new recruits (and to themselves in the process).

I'm confessed fundie Christians do this as well. They are not necessarily spreading the gospel as much as constantly reinforcing their own beliefs.

i bought that book today at borders and it is very interesting, because the far right groups accuse us of recruiting and yet they try to recruit ex-gays aounds like we should start acussing them of recruiting.

8. Wasn't there a Dolly Parton movie called "Straight Talk"
and not to be sterotypical, but we in the gay community do love Dolly!

wonder if that's where he got the idea for his show

9. this is hilarious. . .
seems to me that someone needs to ask Bennett if it's good business to be an "ex-gay". . .what an easy way to earn a living. Just run around the country and repeat the same nonsense over and over again.

The promos made me laugh hysterically. . .
