Ministry's on a misguided mission to scare gay teens straight
They're from God and they're here to help you by heading to Seattle this week with a whole new take on the meaning of scaring teenagers straight.

Groundswell -- a so-called "ex-gay" ministry from Florida that targets teenagers -- insists it speaks to kids "kindly and compassionately" about what the Bible says about homosexuality. But the gist is that young people who are gay are also sinful, sick and wrong. In order to be righteous, healthy and right, they must be "helped" to change.

Oh, and while they're in the neighborhood, they hope to get that message into schools.

The push, under the auspices of the evangelical "gay fix-it" group, Exodus International, will set up shop Thursday at Redmond's Antioch Bible Church.

Dang breeders! There they go trying to recruit vulnerable gay teenagers into their heterosexual "lifestyle." Next thing you know they'll have kids eating white bread and twinkies, trading their mocha double lattes for cups of Maxwell House, and trading in their Cuisinarts for blenders! It's SICK! Something needs to be done to stop this menace!
:sarcasm:

9. They are a cult

When you evaluate these "ex-gay ministries" on the Advanced Bonewits Cult Danger Evaluation Framework (aka ABCDEF, "because evaluating such groups should be elementary"), they rank pretty highly as a cult.

10. One does wonder when these crazed fundies
are going to try to do some REAL good for society - hey. . .like how about an ec-pedo ministry? Surely their fairy dust and casting bible verses like spells can turn these people into good citizens again.

They'd probably still burning people at the stake and here is a good article on the persecution of gays during the Middle Ages.Link:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Persecution_of_gays,_lesbians,_bisexuals,_and_the_transgendered
and here:http://www.fordham.edu/halsall/pwh/index-med.html
and like the agenda of De Torquemada we know what the religious right would like a government controlled by religion.
