A great book: "Fingersmith" by Sarah Waters. |
|
Couldn't put it down. Stayed up until 4:30 am reading it one night. Really well written and full of great plot twists and turns.
If I tried to describe it, you'd think it didn't necessarily sound so great, but it really is!
(It was also made into a film which you can get on DVD, but I recommend you read the book first because it was far more enjoyable.)

1. Lex! I cannot believe you referenced this, as I'm |
|
reading it! I'm past the switch, and I'm angry! Now I'm getting the other side of the story, but so far I'm still angry and hate anyone who pinches anyone! And that man...:nuke:

Maud is much more manipulative, mean, and just not nice in the book than the BBC movie. Although Elaine Cassidy can be kinda hot in her chemise, with her hair down!!!

3. The BBC movie is sooooooooooooooooooooooo good |
|
Elaine Cassidy and Sally Hawkins....
It follows the book very closely, although I'm kinda "eh" on Gentleman's casting.

5. After reading the book, I purchased the DVD (and |
|
I don't usually buy DVDs).
The movie is very true to the book.

6. Sarah Waters is one of the best writers in the world |
|
For more of her, read "Tipping the Velvet" and "Affinity". Neither will disappoint!

7. Yes, I agree that her other two are great as well. |
|
I liked Tipping the Velvet and the BBC movie made of it. Also I liked Affinity, just not quite as much as her other two.
Ms. Waters has a new book coming this spring, set during WWII London.

8. I've already pre-ordered the new book |
|
And I've read all the others at least twice, plus bought the DVDs. Sarah Waters is an amazingly good writer!
