H.S. Seniors Overwhelmingly Support Gay Families
http://www.365gay.com/Newscon06/01/010506youthPoll.htm

A national poll of high school seniors shows that young people are twice as likely as adults to support the legal recognition of same-sex marriage.

The survey was conducted by Zogby International for Hamilton College in Clinton, NY. The results, released Thursday, come at a time when conservative groups are trying to prevent the establishment of Gay Straight Associations at schools in a number of states nationwide.

The poll on "hot button" political issues also found that students in the high school class of 2006 support strong handgun control measures but oppose abortion.

Three-quarters of the high school seniors throughout the country favor the legal recognition of same-sex relationships, either as marriage or civil union.

1. Ahhh... to be young and idealistic.
Before the world crushes your soul.

I've thought for a long time that the only way homosexual marriage is really going to make progress is for many of the old timers, put bluntly, to die off. They were taught throughout their life the homosexuality is a unnatural and wrong and it is too late to change them. A fresh start will have to be made.

I just hope that these kids can keep their values as they grow up and not be poisoned by ideologues with an agenda.

3. This is very, very, very good news
On a related note, when the local GSA (at my school) becoming an ASB club was put to the vote of the student government, it passed unanimously, seemingly without a second thought from anyone.

The tide is changing, my friends.

4. Just wait until college...
... when segregation by race/ethnicity begins, and many ethnicities end up in fundamentalist Christian communities where they are brainwashed into thinking that 9/11 happened because America had too many gays.

The Koreans and the Cubans are NOTORIOUS for this, and in fact I want no more of those ethnicities allowed to immigrate to America. Even "not-so-Christian" ethnicities like the Chinese fall into traps like this more often than you think.
