In December, to commemorate the banniversary (the anniversary of Ohio's constitutional ban on same gender marriages) Equality Ohio collected the stories of over 100 individuals in a book:

LGBT people, our friends, families, and allies all over Ohio are beginning to tell our stories, and particularly to share how our lives are impacted by Issue One. It is our hope that knowing our stories will make it less likely that future similar initiatives will be successful, and ultimately will result in the repeal of Issue One.

This book was presented to each senator, representative, the governor, and the secretary of state.

I'd say enjoy, but it's not necessarily enjoyable reading.

I share their vision. Not everyone in Ohio voted for Issue One.

I voted against Issue One. And I wouldn't be surprised that I was the only one to do so in my tiny, rural precinct!

3. I am proud to say that when the time came

for me to punch in my Issue One vote, I pushed my stylus so hard into the "no" punchhole that I'm surprised I didn't grind the chad into the floor below the voting booth!
