Virginia Gay Marriage Amendment Advances
http://www.365gay.com/Newscon06/01/011206virginia.htm

A Virginia House of Delegates committee on Wednesday overwhelmingly approved a constitutional amendment stating that marriage is a union between a man and a woman.

The measure prohibiting gay marriage will be on the November ballot if it is approved by the full General Assembly. State law already bans gay marriage, but proponents of the constitutional amendment say it is needed to make clear that Virginia does not have to recognize such marriages or civil unions performed in other states.

Several gay rights activists spoke against the proposal. Dyana Mason, executive director of the Equality Virginia, said the measure would "write discrimination into the Virginia constitution."

3. Do you tell them why?
Only when VA realizes the extent to which it is getting hit in the pocketbook (e.g., people who relocate from the state, people who won't visit it, etc.) will the reasonable folks take control from the whack-jobs.

2. they should rename it the animal husbandry amendment
since it doesn't require that they be in love and the only criteria is that one is a male and one is a female, for the purpose of procreatin', I spose.

There is nothing that would keep a gay guy from marrying a gay woman, and STILL having all the perverted hot-monkey same-sex diddling that they had before marriage.

After all, how can having sex with someone of the same sex be considered an extra-marital affair if the extra-maritals can't get married themselves.

I believe I'm going to start referring to it as the animal husandry amendment and the Federal Animal Husbandry Amendment.
