Women for America? Perhaps CWA's fundraising is down this quarter...
Tinfoil? I don't know, but so far that's as good a reason as any of the bullshit this (mis)Administration has put out on the subject.
http://www.goodasyou.org/good_as_you/2006/01/concerned_woman.htmlConcerned woman, concerned about Allen, raises concern about gays concerns with porn. Concerned?
Predictably speaking about the "controversy" of openly gay actor Chad Allen appearing as a lead in a Christian film, the Concerned Women for America's Martha Kleder and Bob Knight today share this lovely interchange:
MARTHA KLEDER: And Bob, also, if children are on the Internet and want to learn more about the movie and Google "chad Allen," what are they likely to find?
BOB KNIGHT: Well Martha, they're gonna stumble onto a lot of homosexual-themed websites, and those lead to pornographic websites, so they may get more than they bargained for, which is one of our main concerns about having an openly homosexual actor play a Christian in a christian movie.
Well, first off...
...no you won't. Secondly and more importantly, however -- How dare you, Mr. Knight, once again paint "gay" and "porn" as if the two terms are synonymous, therefore further stigmatizing the "homosexual lifestyle" for your dedicated "pro-family" audience. You KNOW this a duplicitous generalization, which is used by your side to help your cause. Is there a lot of pron (leaving that error in honor of the Datalounge folk) in society? Well, judging by the massive success of the Paris Hilton sex tape, Colin Farrell sex tape, Pamela Anderson sex tape, and the fact that every single bachelor party we've ever attended has provided at least one "So wait -- you do that to her breasts?" moment for us, we would say that our hetero friends are just as on aboard, if not more so, than our porn-enjoying gay friends.
