Ang Lee wins DGA Award...
...can never get links from yahoo to work. This really cements him as the favorite to win the Oscar--can't think of any award that he hasn't won so far--Golden Globe, Critics Awards, etc.

1. Good - he deserves it. He made a beautiful movie

that hopefully will raise the nation's consciousness and overwhelm the sick decrepit homophobes of the world.

6. Terrific!
The movie finally made it to my city so I am going this week. I have been so anxious to see it.

I hope it cleans up at the Oscars.

8. He deserves it because he's an excellent director. Period.

He has directed an impressive body of work: "Brokeback Mountain" "the Ice Storm" "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" among others. And a personal favorite of mine: "The Wedding Banquet"

Ang Lee is a superb director. And he certainly deserves every accolade this year.

9. Excellent! He deserves it from what it sounds. I'm seeing it today!
It actually came to our red-neck, Bush-loving, goldmine thrashing town! Of course it got here just in time for this:
"National Cowboy Poetry Gathering – January 28 to February 4, 2006 – is a week-long celebration of life in the rural West, featuring the contemporary and traditional arts that arise from lives lived close to the land. Poetry, music, stories, gear, film, photography, food – all contribute to the texture of an event that has become an annual ritual for thousands of people who value the people and cultures that live and work in the American West."

http://www.westernfolklife.org/site/

Thousands of rhinestone, buckskin, turquoise jewelry wearing, levis packing, cowboy hat toting folks from all over the world have descended upon our little Bush/Cheney berg ...to hear cowboy poets recite poems about life in the west and as a cowboy.

So our theater owner must have timed opening "Brokeback Mountain" this week so the tourist cowboys and gals could see it cuz I'd be surprised if many locals will as they are so damned homophobic and anti-liberal.
