David got his wings last night, he is in a happy place now.
Take My Hand Precious Lord

Precious Lord, take my hand
Lead me on,
Let me stand
I'm tired, I am weak I am worn
Through the storm, through the night
Lead me on to the light
Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home

When my way grows drear precious Lord linger near
When my life is almost gone
Hear my cry,
Hear my call
Hold my hand lest I fall
Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home

When the darkness appears and the night draws near
And the day is past and gone
At the river I stand
Guide my feet,
Hold my hand
Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home

Precious Lord, take my hand
Lead me on,
Let me stand
I am tired, I am weak, I am worn
Through the storm, through the night
Lead me on to the light
Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home

I want to thank all of you who have supported me through this trying time, your love & compassion has helped in ways you will never know.

The above Gospel song was one of Davids favorites & I think very fitting now.

I was with David at his passing, he went peacefully it was very hard to let go but to see the pain wash away from his face put me at ease. He's in Heaven now with all the other angels who have been taken from this terrible disease.

Bill

4. Bill,
The horrors of the last few weeks will fade soon and be overtaken by a flood of memories of all the loving, beautiful times you shared. Time will help...wait it out.

You are a strong, kind man. I wish you peace.

8. thoughts to his spirit and to you.
I remember seeing and interview with Sharon Stone, who was talking about being at a bedside of a dear friend who was passing. She said he died, and she was crying, then he suddenly came back, as surprised to be back as she was to see him back. He had this smile and he said "It's LOVE. Its all about love... its beautiful!" and then he left a final time.

If you don't mind, may I post a short writing I did for two sisters who lost someone...

Lerk: here. Here is a weighty stone. *hands it to Kofi*

Kofi: it says "guilt"

Lerk: toss it very far from you.

*Kofi throws the stone as far from her as she can*

Lerk: here. here is a weighty stone. *hands to Toe*

Toe: it says "blame"

Lerk: toss it very far from you.

*Toe throws the stone as far from her as she can*

Lerk: Here are a pile of stones. *points to pile*

Kofi and Toe: What are those?

Lerk: Memories. Some are good. Some are bad. Many are painful. Some are small. Some are heavy. Some are jagged. Some are smooth.

Kofi: throw these from us?

Lerk: No. Even if you can't lift them now, keep them close to you. You will need them.

Toe: what will we need them for?

Lerk: To build bridges.

Kofi: what kind of bridges?

Lerk: that stretch from the past to the future. That support you on your way. That have little waystations on the piers, in which are shrines, made from these stones.

Toe: aren't stones very cold things? How can we build a bridge from those?

Lerk: *shrugs* Stones are what bridges are made from. I do not know the secret of stones and why we must use them. I only know that I have made bridges...and walked them. Sometimes placing one stone on top another is the only way to hang on. *mirthless grin* Come. I have something else to give you.
Kofi and Toe follow Lerk to the edge of a wide canyon.

Lerk: here. *hands a stone to both Toe and Kofi, who strain under the weight* these are stones of illusion.

Kofi: mine says: Despair

Toe: mine says: Depression

Lerk: and mine says: Grief

Kofi: how can we hurl these from us? they are too heavy.

Toe: I can hardly lift it.

Lerk: here is a trick I have learned. watch.
*Lerk weeps openly, the tears forming rivers on his face. He pulls out a cloth and mops up the tears. Then, he holds the cloth over his stone, and slowly wrings it out. As the drops of tears drip on the stone, it begins to melt away, a bit at a time. after a time, The stone splits in two, and slowly it dissolves*

Kofi: I do not understand.

Toe: How can tears dissolve Despair, Depression and grief?

Lerk: That is the illusion. it isnt tears that dissolves the stones, but time...that, and the knowledge that the stone WILL dissolve. The stones are not as huge as you think, but rather, made up of many many small stones. Take your despair, your depression, and your grief only one small particle at a time. The whole stone is too much for any one. But one particle at a time is something you can do.
*They all stand on the edge of the canyon as Lerk scoops up the particles of the dissolved stone. He hurls it out over the canyon, where the particle fall, and recombine into a structure that spans the canyon*

Lerk: come. *holds out his hand* It's time to cross that bridge.

12. Sorry to hear of your loss.
One of my favorite hymns is "Eagles Wings".

And He will raise you up on Eagles Wings,
Bare you on the breath of dawn,
Make you to rise like the sun,
And hold you in the palm of His hand.

Be assured that David will never be far away.

27. I'm glad that he left this world peacefully and with you near him.
I hope that the memories of your life together will sustain you through the sadness and grief you are experiencing right now. Hang in there, and when things seem really dark please try to remember that you will once again find happiness in the world. Please take care of yourself and PM me if you need a set of ears to simply listen.

Peace, William.

I am so sorry. I did not know about this until just now and I did a search and now I do know.

I lost my brother to AIDS a little over 3 years ago. It is devastating.

One thing I can say to you from experience both as a family member and a former nurse, there is nothing more wonderful to offer to someone than to witness and share their final moments. It is a precious last gift you can offer, one that may haunt you at times but know this, you made the transition a little easier for him. I believe that when you do that your loved one takes a tiny little piece of you to whatever hereafter there is.

My heart is with you. Be in peace.
