Democratic forum turns into shouting match
A candidates forum at the Gregg County Democratic headquarters became a shouting match and ended with one candidate renouncing his affiliation with the Gregg County Executive Democratic Committee.

The meeting, organized by Gregg County Democratic United, erupted after former group president Donna Rosenblum criticized Congressional candidate Roger Owen for saying that state House candidate Patrick Franklin is "hurting the Democratic Party."

Owen made that comment Monday about Franklin, who is openly gay.

"That was so wrong, Roger, that you would attack another Democratic candidate," Rosenblum said.

1. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
He'll just be the next Zell Miller or Cuellar that we will kick ourselves for ever giving money to.

2. bigotry is hurting the democratic party
This idea that it's a democratic value to ignore gay issues that half the party seems to have is what's hurting us. If we spoke with a unified voice on the issue it wouldn't be hurting us at all.

If we dump gays to satisfy the bigots and the concessionistas, then the other side will just mock us for having no principles, and we get assraped by bigotry and our own stupidity yet again.

Just wait and watch. If gays AREN'T in the national platform, their ads will be out mocking us first for supporting gays, then for changing our mind.

5. Sometimes I feel it's the other way around, helping deliver seats
for dems, only to get turned on as a means of triangulating a lock on the seat.
