Question about San Francisco
Is anyone familiar enough with the San Francisco club scene to provide a list of GLBT dance clubs that are hetero friendly? (I hope that makes sense) Or maybe they all are...?

1. The Cafe...
in The Castro is the one GLBT club I go to with my gay/lesbian friends. (2367 Market) On any given night it is a good mix of gay/straight and is a lot of fun. Honestly, I have gone to many gay clubs with friends (I'm a straight woman) and have never had a problem. The one instance there was a potential issues was at a lesbian bar where there was a distinct chill to the presence of straight guys. Otherwise, it's all pretty cool.

3. I'll offer these recommendations.

I'm not familiar with exclusively GLBT clubs anymore but the following cater to diverse crowds and musical taste:

The Elbo Room.

I've heard about Lil' Baobob (or Little Baobob) - restaurant by day, club by night - but haven't been there yet.

The Cafe is a great recommendation - HHNF knows what she's talking about.

You might want to look through The Best of the Bay listings at The Bay Guardian.

I haven't been dancing with hundreds of hot shirtless men in ages but if that's what you're looking for I can ask around... ;)

I don't think you'll have any problems.

5. The Cafe is good. I'd avoid SF Badlands if you're not white...they've
been accused of discrimination, although the city cleared them.

I'd just peek in some places....you can generally get a feel. (perhaps a poor choice of words)

Just curious why you ask? :)

I am planning some vacation time to SF later this year and I'm looking for some tips on night life.

10. It has been my experience...
that GLBT bars are more fun than straight bars. The music is kick ass, so is the energy. But as someone noticed somewhere in this thread some bars like straight patrons and some don't. So that's why I am asking about SF to figure out which do and which don't.

If that makes sense.
